Privacy policy
This policy covers the carbonado.app website and the research tools Carbonado Apps uses behind the scenes. Each of our games and apps will have its own section here, written before it launches, so you can see exactly what that app does with your data before you download it.
Who we are
Carbonado Apps is a small independent studio based in the United Kingdom. We're responsible for the data described in this policy. You can reach us at hello@carbonado.app about anything in it.
This website
This website has no sign-up, no forms, no cookies, no analytics and no advertising, and it doesn't load anything from other companies' servers. We don't collect personal information from you when you visit.
The site is hosted by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare's systems briefly process technical details of each visit, such as your IP address and browser type, to deliver the page and protect it from attacks. Cloudflare handles that data under its own privacy policy.
If you email us, we'll use your email address and what you send only to reply to you, and we'll delete it on request.
How we use Google user data
Carbonado Apps has a Google Cloud project that connects to the Google Ads API. We use it for one thing, which is reading keyword research figures from Google Keyword Planner, such as how many people search each month for a phrase like "document scanner", in the countries we choose. Those figures help us decide which games and apps to make and how to describe them in app stores and on the web.
- Whose data. The only Google account that signs in is our own studio account. We don't offer Google sign-in to the public, and we never access any other person's Google account or data.
- What we access. We use the Google Ads scope only to read keyword ideas and search volumes. We don't create, change or pay for advertising campaigns through this connection.
- Where it's kept. The sign-in token is stored on our own server, which only we can access. The keyword figures are kept with our research notes.
- Sharing. We don't sell, rent or share data received from Google APIs with anyone. We don't use it to target advertising at individuals, and we don't use it to build profiles of people.
- AI. We don't use data received from Google APIs to develop, improve or train general AI or machine learning models.
- Revoking access. Access can be removed at any time from the account's Google permissions page at myaccount.google.com/permissions, and we delete the stored token when access is removed.
Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Our games and apps
None of our games or apps are released yet. Before each one launches, we'll add a section here explaining what data it uses, why, and how to delete it, and we'll link to that section from the app's store listing.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us what personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, and object to how we use it. Email hello@carbonado.app and we'll reply within one month. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page. If a change affects an app you use, we'll say so in that app's update notes.
